How C.O.A.R. Came to Be
C.O.A.R. was launched by Wendy McEntyre after years of advocacy work alongside Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris. It emerged from a simple, devastating truth: families searching for help are often the most vulnerable to being exploited by a system built on referral fees rather than patient care.
When a family is in crisis — when they're desperate to get a loved one into treatment — they don't have time to vet every facility, decode every contract, or recognize the warning signs of patient brokering. C.O.A.R. was built to give them a place to turn instead.
